Jusqu'à 90 représentants de diverses organisations religieuses ont été invités au palais royal à Oslo au début du mois dans le cadre des efforts visant à promouvoir une plus grande compréhension et le dialogue inter- ethnique et inter-religieux .

Religion in Norway is mostly Evangelical Lutheran, with 76.1% of the population officially belonging to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Norway in 2013. The Roman Catholic Church is the next largest Christian denomination at 2.4% (however there has been a charge of massive fraud in the Catholic numbers[2]) and a total of 82% belong to all Christian denominations. The officially unaffiliated make up 13.0% of the population. Islam is claimed by 2.4% of the population according to government records, making it the largest non-Christian religion. However, the state provides funds to recognized denominations according to the number of registered members and the Evangelical Lutheran Church has a privileged place in society, though less so since a constitutional change in May 2012, which means the official figures do not necessarily reflect actual religious belief.[4]
